What is this update (Altria Upgrade)?
The update is scheduled to occur at block 141,150,000, with an estimated date of November 11, 2025.
It will be activated after Proposal 583 is approved by the Injective community.
The main objective is to improve the performance, interoperability, and compatibility of the Injective network with the Ethereum (EVM) ecosystem, as well as to bring technical advancements that prepare the protocol for the next generation of dApps and multichain integration.
🚀 Key changes included:
Full public access to the Injective EVM network
This means that anyone will be able to interact directly with the main Injective EVM network – that is, Ethereum-compatible contracts and tokens will be able to function fully within Injective.
Integration of the MultiVM design
Injective will allow WASM (WebAssembly) and EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) to coexist in the same environment.
This is revolutionary because developers will be able to choose different languages and environments to create smart contracts on the same blockchain.
Implementation of the EIP-1559 standard (DynamicFeeTx)
This is the same fee system used in Ethereum, which makes transactions more predictable and efficient, burns part of the fees, and helps control INJ token inflation.
Geth update to version 1.16.3
Geth is the most popular Ethereum client. Updating to a newer version improves performance and compatibility.
Performance improvements
Increased data throughput, efficiency in consensus, and improved interoperability with other SDK modules (Cosmos base).
State migrations and fee adjustments
Cleaning up old parameters (such as remnants of delegations),
Enabling new transaction fees (txfees),
Updating validator settings.
⚖️ Status and voting
Status: Pending (awaiting approval).
Urgency: High.
Impact: Medium (but technically important for developers). Voting: Ends on November 8, 2025.
After approval, the update will be implemented on November 11, 2025.
